The Aberdare is 160km north of Nairobi, Aberdare National Park is unique since it has mountain range and the rainforest. There are a large number of elephants, buffalo, giant forest hog, hyena, the endangered black rhino and bongo.

The Aberdare is 160km north of Nairobi, Aberdare National Park is unique since it has mountain range and the rainforest. There are a large number of elephants, buffalo, giant forest hog, hyena, the endangered black rhino and bongo. Also, there are varieties of cats including servals, leopards, civet and the rare African golden cat. The waterbuck, reedbuck, duikers and bushbuck are abundant.
Visitors can satiate in picnics, trout fishing in the rivers and camping in the moorlands.
Bird viewing is rewarding in the Park with over 250 species of birds. Including the sparrow hawks, eagles and many others.
The Chania falls within the park is breathtakingly refreshing and really exciting. The Queen cave which has a historical background, is the Queens picnic site, it was called the Queens cave after her visit. Similarly, it was used by field marshal Dedan Kimathi as a hideout from the colonial army.
Visitors can drive to the magnificent Karura falls which is the highest waterfalls in Kenya.
The Aberdare ranges are the source of many rivers, therefore the park is renowned for its torrential waterfalls thrusting from great heights.
Finally, Aberdare is a hiker’s paradise, there are amazing hiking trails with beautiful experience.
